HVGA Newsletter - January, 2008

First of all, the HVGA would like to take the time and welcome back all of our current members for the start of the 2008 season. We are glad that you have decided to join us again for another wonderful golf season. We also would like to welcome all the new members that have joined our club this year. This year the competitions will be fierce as we have some talented new members that are looking to challenge the current members in both flights. We hope that all of our members will enjoy the friendships and competitions that will develop thru out this season.

The Committee did an excellent job in setting up all the 2008 HVGA events. We have eight tournaments and the Texas Cup which will be host here in Houston. We also have the annual Crawfish Boil in April and the dinner at the end of the season. If you see a committee member, please thank them for their hard work and dedications to our club. The Tournament Coordinators have booked some really nice yet challenging courses for our monthly tournaments. The Handicap Chairman is always looking to update everyone’s handicap. Please see him if you need to establish a handicap or if you need your handicap adjusted. Please visit www.HVGA.com if you want to see your handicap. The Treasurer will provide the financial information to our member each month within the monthly newsletter. If you have any questions about the rules of golf, please see the Rules Committee for an answer.

For the 2008 season, we decided to start our monthly tournament one month earlier in February instead of March. Our first tournament for the 2008 season will be at the famous Tour 18 Golf Club in Humble, TX on Saturday February 2nd with a 12:00 PM SHOTGUN start. The fee for the first HVGA tournament will be $65 per player. The deadline to sign up is 01/28/08. Please remember to pay your 2008 Membership Due at our first tournament or you can pay in advance to our Treasurer. We hope that everyone can join us at Tour 18 for start of the 2008 HVGA season.

Good luck to everyone in 2008.

Hien Vo
HVGA President
