Shreveport Invitational
You are cordially invited to the Shreveport Invitational sponsored by Horseshoe Casino, Adams Golf, and VGA National. This is a 2 days event, 18 hole individual stroke play. Flight A will tee from the tips,
Flight B will play one tee up and ladies from the red. Trophies and Prizes will be awarded to regional team (A & B) and individual low gross (A & B) Flight.
There will be closest to the pin, chipping and putting contest for $$ and Prizes.
For hotel accommodation, Horseshoe Casino has provided an awesome rate at $75 per night, which includes two dinner vouchers to their grand buffet. Please email Peter Le at ple@harrahs.com for reservation.
Be sure to mention "Shreveport Invitational" to receive the promotional rate. If you are already a Total Reward member, your rate may be lower. If you are being comp at a competitor, Horseshoe will match it.

Shepherd's Cup golf tournament
The third annual Shepherd's Cup golf tournament is planned for Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at Cypresswood Golf Club in Spring, Texas. This tournament benefits those programs of the Archdiocese

President's Cup Challenge
HVGA has accepted our Southern neighbors GCVGA (Gulf Coast Vietnamese Golf Association) golf challenge. This year's event will be
held at Gray Plantation Golf Course in Lake Charles, LA on Saturday September 26, 2009 and Sunday September 27, 2009.
We are in the process of making this become an annual event similar the Texas Cup.
As it becomes official, we will post all the detail on our

Dear HVGA, As you might or might not know, my mom lost her battle with cancer last week. While it was a very difficult week for us all, we were comforted in receiving HVGA's condolence through

2009 National VGA Championship
Once a year, the VGA is proud to host a national tournament called the VGA National Championship in Las Vegas, NV. This tournament is open to all members of the various associations. We invite the various VGA

New rates and deadlines for cost for the 2009 VGA National Tournament in Las Vegas:

Also, this year is the AAGA National Championship Tournament year. I mentioned last year that I was going to organize a tournament where we would take the top 20 best golfers from each group - Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, Lao, Thai, Taiwanese, Filipino, etc.
October 23-25th is the date for that tournament. At the VGA National tournament, I will be taking the top 10 best gross players with the top scores for both days. If some of the people had a bad weekend of golf, the AAGA will also be hosting events for others to qualify around the country. Locations so far are Atlanta, Los Angeles, Chicago and possibly Houston.
The Tournament will be at the same course as where we are hosting the VGA National tournament. Please try to make you top guys show up and play this fall so we can fill the best team.
As a national group, I am also going to ask you gentlemen to help those individuals who do make the VGA National team - with some sponsorship money. Maybe one group can help with team shirts, one group can help with hats, etc. I know Lich Tran will help our VGA team with getting the best rates on hotel rooms so we can all be together as one in this tournament.

Crawfish & BBQ
It's time for HVGA Annual Crawfish Boil / BBQ. Due to the tournament schedule, we are unable to host this event on Saturday but have to do it on the Sunday after the tourney.
